Baby’s Body
Hope has a new doe suede body, it's weighted with tiny glass granules inside a bag and sewn closed. I placed the bag in the center of her body and filled in all around the bag with nice soft, silky Poly Fiber for a solid, yet soft and cuddly feeling. Her limbs are also filled with tiny glass granules and topped with poly fiber. She was carefully proportioned to feel as much like a real baby as possible. Her head is weighted with glass granules surrounded by poly fiber, for added realism, so you'll need to support her head gently when you pick her up, just as you would with any small baby.
Baby’s Fingers and Toes
For her little fingers and toenails, I've given her very soft, ivory coloured tips and sealed them with a satin finish, to look like freshly clipped newborn nails.
Baby’s Skin
I used many layers of genesis heat set paints to achieve that peaches and cream complexion,
a very natural baby color.
All of her baby rolls have been shaded and highlighted.
There isn't a detail that was overlooked, right down to her tiny fingers and toes. When all the colouring was completed, I started the equally long process of rooting her hair.
Baby’s Hair
I gently micro rooted her little head with dark brown premium Australian angora mohair. I used a very fine felting needle for this process so the actual roots are very tiny with only one to two hairs in each plug. It took longer to complete this process, but the results are so beautiful and realistic. I'm very proud of the end results. I have sealed her hair on the inside so it can be dampened and gently styled.
